HOSPITAL AUTHORITY ACADEMY
The Hospital Authority Academy (HA Academy), commencing its services in April 2023, is established for consolidating the current corporate training institutes and enhancing the credentialing of HA training programmes, with the aims of facilitating career development and progression of HA workforce, attracting talents to HA in support of manpower sustainability through:
- Building corporate identity and ‘one HA’ image while allowing flexibility for each member institute to cater for unique needs;
- standardising governance structure and uplifting quality assurance framework for enhanced management;
- aligning administrative processes across different institutes and avoiding overlaps or duplication of work; optimal use of manpower and other training resources; and
- sharing best practices across institutes and creating synergistic collaboration in both local and neighbourhood areas, including the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA)

Dovetailed with the direction of the establishment, HA Academy integrates the existing corporate training institutes as member institutes, which were set up with their own governance and management structure separately, along with the development of HA over the years, to offer training to specific staff groups in support of HA’s service and development needs.
- the Institute of Advanced Allied Health Studies (IAAHS);
- the Institute of Advanced Nursing Studies (IANS);
- the Institute of Health IT (IHIT);
- the Institute of Vocational Training (IVT); and
- HA Nursing Schools.
Training Framework
HA Academy is built on a five-pillar training framework to offer structured training to strengthen multi-disciplinary care, support service development and facilitate professional progression through the existing corporate training institutes of HA and those in the future.
Roles and Functions
With the purpose of staff retention and attracting new talents in support of the manpower sustainability of HA, the HA Academy plays a pivotal role in nurturing healthcare professionals with a mission to provide innovative and up-to-date training leading to quality service. With strengthening the collaboration with external training parties to extend the existing scope and areas of training, the HA Academy will gradually develop and become an icon in corporate training, and provide innovative and cutting-edge training, with the aim of bringing new thoughts and ideas to the healthcare industry.
