Training Framework

 

The HA Academy is built on a 5–pillar training framework in terms of Training Coverage, Training Governance, Training Quality, Training Hub and Training Technology to offer structured training to strengthen multi-disciplinary care, support service development and facilitate professional progression through the existing corporate training institutes of HA and those in the future.

 

 

  1. Training Coverage

Providing professional and vocational training for all HA staff under one training academy, working closely with the existing training institutes, to dovetail with HA service needs and the development trend of healthcare industry; Introducing new training initiatives for staff, such as national study series for better understanding of socio-economic policies and technologies development of the Mainland, etc.

 

  1. Training Governance

Reviewing the roles, functions, manpower and hardware resources of existing training institutes as well as new institutes in future for effective integration and rationalisation with unified standards, expectations, reporting requirements of training provision as well as synergised executive/ administrative support under one training academy to enhance the overall operational efficiency and Facilitating allocations of funding resources.

 

  1. Training Quality

Strengthening the quality assurance framework to assure training standards, processes and outcomes amongst the corporate training institutes, and fostering best practices in training management and provision; Uplifting the credentialing of selective HA professional training programmes in a structured way through the Qualifications Framework as well as facilitating credit transfer and accreditation of mandatory/core training in support of recruitment and staff’s career advancement.

 

  1. Training Hub

Enhancing collaboration and exchange with local and overseas professional, academic and government bodies, such as Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, Civil Service College and Greater Bay Area, for mutual exchange and sharing of management practice, leadership development, innovation and technology applications; Supporting the healthcare industry by opening up HA’s training programmes to external parties for continuing professional development.

 

  1. Training Technology

Adopting innovation and the latest technology applications to enable optimisation of learning and training outcomes, for example, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, and other learning tools; Utilising e-platforms to provide timely training information for planning, monitoring and reporting of training activities as well as streamline training administration.
